The organs of the respiratory system include the nose, nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchial tree, and lungs. The parts of the respiratory system can be divided into two sets, or tracts. Those organs outside the thorax constitute the upper respiratory tract; those within the thorax comprise the lower respiratory tract.
